Info for Parents

It's not easy raising a teen these days. And it's not easy advising them on what career to pursue either.

The world has changed a lot since your children were born. So has the health sector. Despite and because of these changes health is an exciting and rewarding sector to work in. It is also a sector which offers so much variety that those that work in health don't have to stay in the same role for life — something today's generations are focused on.

If your child is interested in making a difference and having a job which is more than "just a desk job" which allows them to travel, here's how you can help them:

Help your teen choose the right career for them by:

  • reading through this website and find out about the different roles in health
  • checking out the Career Services website to explore options
  • encouraging them to take subjects in school which will help them to get into the career they want
  • talking to their school guidance counsellor or logging into our chat room to find out about how to help them get some work experience in the job they are interested in.

Also check out these websites for information on supporting your teen through making a career choice.
