Justin Timperley

Name:
Justin Timperley
Job: Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT)/ PACS Support

I decided to get into a career in health because I like being fit and active and I enjoy helping people. I trained as an MRT and have had the opportunity to grow and work in a variety of different areas. When I qualified, I started as a general MRT and quickly progressed into doing Theatre work. Approximately 1 year after qualifying I got a part time position on PACS support and started spreading my time between the PACS support and Theatre while still doing some General Radiography. More opportunities to progress have been there, but I have been unable to take them as between the three areas I have little time left.

The best part of my job is knowing that you are always making a difference in a patient's life.
For someone with the right personality working in health can be a very rewarding career. Radiography in particular is a rapidly changing profession and I have found that there are new opportunities coming up all the time.
