Health jobs currently dominate New Zealand’s long term skill shortage list (LTSSL).
The LTSSL, which is reviewed bi-annually, identifies occupations where there are insufficient skilled workers to meet demands, both internationally and within New Zealand.
If a job appears on the LTSSL, employers are free to offer international candidates positions.
Such candidates may be eligible to apply for residence in New Zealand through the Work to Residence (long term skill shortage list) policy or the
Skilled Migrant Category.
If you apply for residence under the Skilled Migrant Category and you receive an offer of employment, or you have work experience or qualifications in areas where there are absolute skill shortages, you will receive extra points towards your application for residency.

- Ambulance Paramedic (Advanced Life Support)
- Ambulance Paramedic (Intermediate Life Support)
